Then in 2020, a chance encounter with a successful artist who shared my background reignited everything. In 2021, while still working my job in Medicare insurance, I decided to give art a real shot — selling my work on the side. The response was immediate. People weren't just buying paintings; they were connecting with them.

God’s hand was in motion

In 2022, God moved again — I was laid off. Instead of despairing, I took it as the blessing it was and gave my art everything I had. Commissions came. Media features followed. My work traveled further than I ever had.

But the accolades were never the point. My true motivation is spreading joy, inspiration, encouragement, and hope through my paintings. Every stroke carries resilience and optimism. That's why I continue to create today.

The Name

I'm an artist in every sense of the word — music, dance, acting, poetry. I love to play on words. People call me Dee, and the core of a person is the heart. Art made to live on your walls is called décor. Put them together and you get Deecor — because in every piece, I give you something from my core: artwork from my heart, for your walls.
